I have been on a journey getting back my workout groove for over a year now. Its about remaining motivated and realizing that it will not happen over night. I love working out the same way I love listening to a great melody. Continue reading “Getting your Workout Groove Back”→
I am learning to be patient! It’s easy to say we want to get fit and be healthy, but it really takes dedication. Do I have moments of weakens? Yes. Are their moments where I want to quite? All the time I have the urge to quite. I keep going because one day I want to become a mother. Continue reading “Slow and Steady Wins the Race”→
I am all about transforming my body into something better. Looking back at my past four birthdays since the age of 25 my body has transform for the better. I’m not going to say journey has been easy, but deciding to get healthy and get fit has been a right choice for me. I am not talking about getting skinny because being skinny does not mean being healthy. I am talking about eating right, working out and making lifestyle changes that will only enhance your journey.
Let me start by saying a year ago I truly dislike running. I could not run for a minute straight without stopping to walk. I never saw myself running or even attempting to train myself into running. Now lets fast-forward to last Saturday May 10, 2014 and I took part in my first 5k color run.
The journey leading up to running 3.1 miles was rough, slow, and mentally challenging at times. I just kept telling myself why I started this journey. I started this journey to change my life. My motivation that keeps me going is to one day becoming a mother. As I stated in my article “Stop the Clock” my endocrine doctor told me I needed to change my life. Losing weight is one of my attempts to know I am doing whatever I need to become a mother.
I train to get better, I know the difference between fit and fat is “I.” I am not a perfect runner but I will get better. I started this journey to change and one day run a half marathon. After finishing this 3.1 miles I am more determine to continue training until I can run 13.1 miles.
I finish my 5k in 45 minutes. I am proud of myself for not stopping, and not quitting. Now that school is out for the summer my trainer already told me its time for pain. I can’t wait especially since the pain will be outdoors.
The time has finally come for my first 5k. I am excited, nervous, and scared all at the same time. The only thing that makes this race rewarding is the fact its the color run. A race that seems fun, and vibrant from their photos.
We all want amazing bodies, but we need to understand it’s going to take time to get there. While it might seem hard at first to reach your goal remember it will happen. I constantly look at old pictures as my motivation to keep going. I do not have the perfect body, but I will never return to how I was a year ago. I just have to keep going and remember my body is under construction.
I don’t diet, I eat clean. I have decided to change my lifestyle that does not make me live on a diet plan or diet program for the rest of my life. Eating right is a lifestyle change. I am not perfect, the last five days I have not been preparing food simply because I had no food in my house. I was eating out more and more. Even though I was working out I was not preparing my food. I love to workout means I need to eat clean as well.

Eating healthy is a key factor to weight loss. We all know that 80/20 rule it goes the same with fitness as well. 80 percent of the weight loss comes with what you eat. While 20 percent comes from working out . I don’t believe anyone needs to be on a diet. I say that because diets are short term satisfaction no one wants to be on a diet for the rest of their lives. Instead I believe in moderation, and the reason most people gain back weight after weight loss is because they were on a diet plan, meaning they never fully understood how to regulate their own eating habits.
